He Gave Us Life And Made Us Life-givers
“도둑이 오는 것은 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 것뿐이나 나는 양들이 생명을 얻고 누리며 풍성하게(최대한으로, 흘러 넘치게) 얻게 하려고 왔다”(요 10:10, 확대번역본)
우리가 그리스도인으로서 스스로 인간이 아니라고 말할 때, 어떤 사람들은 이를 이단으로 여기거나 ‘작은 신’ 신드롬이라고 부르곤 합니다. 우리와 주님의 하나됨, 곧 그분과 우리를 동일시하는 것의 타당성을 의심하는 자들은 예수님께서 이 땅에 오신 이유, 참된 목적에 대한 이해가 부족합니다. 오늘의 본문 구절을 다시 읽어보십시오.
예수님은 단순히 우리를 죄에서 구원하기 위해 이 땅에 오시지 않았습니다. 그것은 최종 목적을 위한 하나의 방법이었습니다. 그렇다면 예수님은 무엇을 위해 오셨습니까? 그분은 우리가 하나님과 교제할 수 있도록 우리에게 생명을 주시기 위해 오셨습니다. 요한복음 5:26은 이렇게 말합니다. “아버지께서 자기 속에 생명이 있음 같이 아들에게도 생명을 주어 그 속에 있게 하셨고.”
생각해 보십시오. 아버지께 생명의 충만함이 있듯이 예수 그리스도께도 생명의 충만함이 있습니다. 예수님은 아버지에게서 생명을 빼앗아 온 것이 아닙니다. 바울이 고린도전서 15:45(새번역)에서 말한 내용을 기억하십시오. “성경에 ‘첫 사람 아담은 산 영이 되었다’고 기록한 바와 같이, 마지막 아담은 생명을 주시는 영이 되셨습니다.” 생명을 주시는 영인 예수님께서 그 동일한 생명을 우리 안에 주셨습니다.
따라서 생명을 주시는 영인 예수님과 같이 당신은 생명을 주는 영입니다. 예수님은 우리에게 생명을 주시고, 우리를 생명을 주는 자로 만드셨습니다. 놀랍지 않습니까? 당신이 나타날 때 생명이 펼쳐집니다. 조금만 나타나는 것이 아니라 충만함으로 가득히 나타납니다.
마태복음 10:8에서 예수님이 우리에게 이 일을 맡기신 것도 당연합니다. “병든 자를 고치며 죽은 자를 살리며 나병환자를 깨끗하게 하며 귀신을 쫓아내되…” 이는 병들고 괴로워하는 사람들에게 손을 얹을 때, 당신 안에 있는 생명이 그들 안으로 옮겨지고 전달되어 그들에게 치유, 온전함, 완전함을 줄 수 있기 때문입니다.
성경은 말합니다. “우리는 그분의 몸과 그분의 살과 그분의 뼈에 속한 지체들이니라.”(엡 5:30, 한글킹제임스) 이 말씀의 중요성에 대해 묵상해 보신 적이 있습니까? 이는 우리가 그분의 몸의 팔과 다리 같은 존재라는 뜻입니다. 바울은 고린도 교회에 보낸 편지에서 이렇게 말했습니다. “너희 몸은 너희가 하나님께로부터 받은 바 너희 가운데 계신 성령의 전인 줄을 알지 못하느냐…”(고전 6:19-20)
고린도전서 12:27은 말합니다. “너희는 그리스도의 몸이요 지체의 각 부분이라.” 당신은 하나님의 신성한 본질의 운반자입니다. 당신을 통해 영생이 나타납니다. 이 진리의 위대함을 깨닫고 이 실재 가운데 사십시오.

사랑하는 아버지, 나를 생명을 나누어 주는 자, 당신의 축복을 나누어 주는 자로 만드심에 감사드립니다. 나는 상처받고 죽어가는 세상을 향해 뻗어진 당신의 팔입니다. 나는 능력으로 충만하고 주님의 영으로 말미암아 하나님의 영광이 나를 통해 나의 세상에 풀어집니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HE GAVE US LIFE AND MADE US LIFE-GIVERS
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)” (John 10:10 AMPC).
When we say that as Christians, we aren’t mere humans, some might view it as heresy or call it the ‘little god’ syndrome. Those who question the validity of our oneness with the Lord—our sublime identity with Him— lack the understanding of why Jesus came; His true purpose for coming to this world. Read again, the opening verse.
Jesus didn’t come to merely save us from sin; that was a means to an end. So, what did He come to do? He came to give us life to bring us into fellowship with God. John 5:26 says, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.”
Think about that: just as the Father has the fullness of life, so also, Jesus Christ has the fullness of life; He’s not drawing life from the Father. Remember what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:45 NIV: “So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a lifegiving spirit.” Jesus, the life-giving spirit, imparts the same life to us.
Therefore, just like Jesus, you’re a life-giving spirit. He gave us life and made us life-givers. Isn’t that amazing? When you show up, life is manifested, not in bits, but in its fullness.
No wonder Jesus charged us in Matthew 10:8, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils….” It’s because when you touch the sick and the afflicted, the life in you is transferred and transfused into them, bringing them healing, wholeness and perfection.
The Bible says, “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones” (Ephesians 5:30). Have you ever contemplated the significance of this statement? It means we are the very limbs of His body. In another of his letter to the Corinthian Church, Paul said, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you…” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
In 1 Corinthians 12:27, the Bible says, “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” In other words, you’re the carrier of His divine essence. Eternal life is unveiled to others through you. Grasp the magnitude of this truth and walk in its reality.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for making me a life-distributor, and a dispenser of your blessings. I am your outstretched arm to a hurting and dying world, to heal, bless, and deliver. I’m full of power, even by the Spirit of the Lord, and the glory of God is released into my world through me today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
