지혜와 훈계
WISDOM AND INSTRUCTION
“훈계를 거절하는 자에게는 가난과 수치가 있으려니와 책망을 중히 여기는 자는 존경을 받으리라.”(잠 13:18 한글킹제임스)
잠언은 성경의 중요한 책 중 하나입니다. 잠언은 지혜로운 그리스도인이라면 누구나 꼼꼼히 공부해야 할 지혜의 책입니다. 잠언은 하나님의 교훈의 중요성과 그 교훈을 삶에 적용하는 것이 얼마나 중요한지 보여줍니다. 모든 사람이 지혜와 훈계를 아는 것은 아닙니다. 하지만 잠언 1:1-2은 우리에게 “…지혜와 훈계를 알게 하며 명철의 말씀을 깨닫게 하며” 라고 말합니다. 여기서 지혜와 훈계는 하나님의 말씀을 가리키는 것입니다.
하나님의 말씀은 지혜요 훈계입니다. 그리고 훈계를 지키지 않으면 치러야 할 값이 있습니다. 잠언 4:13은 하나님의 훈계를 생명이라 칭합니다. 오늘의 본문 구절은 훈계를 거부하는 자에게는 가난과 수치가 있을 것이라고 말합니다.
사람들은 가난할 필요가 없습니다. 그러나 어떤 사람이 현재 아무리 부자일지라도 하나님의 말씀에 주의를 기울이지 않는다면 성경은 그가 가난해질 것이라고 말합니다. 잠언 15장은 확실한 경고로 이 사실을 더욱 뒷받침합니다. “훈계를 거절하는 자는 자기 혼을 멸시하나 책망을 듣는 자는 명철을 얻느니라”(잠15:32 한글킹제임스).
하나님의 말씀은 영광과 권세와 다스림과 승리가 가득한 비범한 삶을 위해 하나님이 주신 설명서입니다. 그러므로 성령님과 말씀과의 교제를 의식적으로 실천하십시오. 그 교제의 자리가 당신이 환경과 삶의 고난들을 이겨낼 수 있는 하나님의 훈계와 인도를 받는 자리입니다.
날마다 말씀을 사십시오. 이것이 바로 야고보가 말한 것입니다. “너희는 말씀을 행하는 자가 되고 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라”(약1:22). 신약에서 우리가 하는 일이 이것입니다. 우리는 살아 움직이는 말씀입니다. 우리를 통해 하나님의 말씀은 기록된 말씀을 넘어 살아 숨쉽니다.
우리는 오늘날 움직이는 하나님의 말씀입니다. 그러므로 개인적으로 말씀을 공부하십시오. 말씀을 “먹고” 소화시키십시오. 이렇게 할 때, 하나님의 훈계를 따르는 것이 당신의 생활방식이 됩니다. 그분의 훈계는 당신을 위대하게 만듭니다.

사랑하는 아버지, 말씀의 은사와 축복에 감사드립니다. 나의 삶은 당신의 계획, 인도, 뜻, 목적을 따르도록 변화되었습니다! 나는 당신의 인도에 민감합니다. 따라서 나는 아름답고 특별한 삶을 살고, 나를 위한 당신의 부르심과 운명을 영광스럽게 성취합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

WISDOM AND INSTRUCTION
“Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured”(Proverbs 13:18).
The Book of Proverbs is an important Book of the Bible. It’s a Book of wisdom which every smart Christian should study meticulously. It shows us the importance of God’s instructions and their applications to our lives. Not everybody knows wisdom and instruction. But Proverbs 1:1-2 tells us to “know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding.” This is referring to the Word of God.
The Word of God is wisdom and instruction, and there’s a cost for not attending to instructions. Proverbs 4:13 refers to God’s instructions as life. Our theme verse says poverty and shame shall be to him that refuses instruction.
The person doesn’t need to have been poor; no matter how rich he may be at the moment, if he wouldn’t heed instruction— God’s Word—the Bible says poverty shall be his lot. The 15th Chapter further buttresses this clear warning; it says, “He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding” (Proverbs 15:32).
The Word of God is God’s instruction manual for an extraordinary life of glory, dominion and victory. Therefore, consciously practise fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the Word. That’s where you receive His instructions and guidance that put you over circumstances and the adversities of life.
Live out the Word every day. That’s exactly what James tells us when he says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1:22). This is what we do in the New Testament: we’re the Word in manifestation. Through us, the Word of God is lived beyond the written pages.
We’re the Word of God in action today. And so, in your personal life, study the Word; “eat” and digest the Word. As you do, following His instructions becomes your way of life, and His instructions make great.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the gift and blessing of your Word—the transformation that following your plans, your instructions, will and purpose has brought to my life! I’m sensitive to your guidance; therefore, I lead a beautiful and exceptional life, gloriously fulfilling your calling and destiny for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
