말씀을 통한 지혜
WISDOM THROUGH WORDS
“너희는 하나님으로부터 나서 그리스도 예수 안에 있고 예수는 하나님으로부터 나와서 우리에게 지혜와 의로움과 거룩함과 구원함이 되셨으니”(고전 1:30)
열왕기상 3장은 솔로몬과 주님의 놀라운 만남에 대해 말합니다. 솔로몬은 기브온에서 천 번이 넘는 번제를 하나님께 드렸습니다. 그날 저녁, 주님께서 솔로몬의 꿈에 나타나 말씀하셨습니다. “솔로몬아, 네가 원하는 것을 무엇이든지 구하라.”
솔로몬은 이렇게 대답했습니다. “주의 백성을 재판하도록 주의 종에게 깨닫는 마음을 주사…”(왕상3:9 한글킹제임스). 솔로몬이 이렇게 구한 것이 얼마나 주님을 기쁘게 하였는지요! 하지만 저는 당신이 여기서 다음 내용을 주목했으면 좋겠습니다. 주님과의 만남 이후 솔로몬은 이 땅에서 가장 지혜로운 사람이 되었다는 점입니다. 성경은 말합니다. “하나님이 솔로몬에게 지혜와 총명을 심히 많이 주시고 또 넓은 마음을 주시되 바닷가의 모래 같이 하시니 솔로몬의 지혜가 동쪽 모든 사람의 지혜와 애굽의 모든 지혜보다 뛰어난지라 그는 모든 사람보다 지혜로워서…”(왕상4:29-31). 솔로몬은 어떻게 지혜를 얻었습니까?
하나님은 솔로몬의 꿈에 나타나셨을 뿐입니다. 어떤 물리적인 만남이 있었던 것이 아닙니다. 하지만 하나님이 말씀하셨고, 지혜가 솔로몬에게 임했습니다. 열왕기상 3:12에서 주님은 솔로몬에게 말씀하십니다. “내가 네 말대로 하여 네게 지혜롭고 총명한 마음을 주노니 네 앞에도 너와 같은 자가 없었거니와 네 뒤에도 너와 같은 자가 일어남이 없으리라.” 솔로몬은 이것을 믿었습니다. 그리고 즉시 그는 지혜를 풀어내기 시작했습니다.
하나님은 그분의 말씀으로 솔로몬에게 지혜를 주셨습니다. 하나님은 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고 그것이 전부였습니다! 하나님께서 우리를 위해 똑같은 일을 하셨다는 것을 아십니까? 다만 우리의 경우, 하나님은 솔로몬이 가진 것보다 더 큰 것을 주셨습니다. 오늘의 본문 구절은 그리스도 예수가 우리에게 지혜가 되셨다고 말씀합니다. 그리고 예수님은 자신을 두고 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “솔로몬보다 더 큰 이가 여기 있으며”(눅11:31).
예수 그리스도(솔로몬보다 크신 분)는 당신의 지혜 곧 “소피아(Sophia, 그리스어)”입니다. “소피아”는 이론적인 지혜와 현실에 대한 통찰력입니다. 즉, 모든 일에 대한 종합적인 이해를 뜻합니다. 그리스도는 당신의 탁월한 지혜입니다. 의인의 지혜(프로네시스 (Phronesis, 그리스어))는 그리스도 예수 안에서 주어집니다. 이것은 실제적인 지혜입니다. 따라서 하나님은 그리스도 안에서 당신에게 개념들을 이해하고 그 개념이 어떻게 연결되는지를 볼 수 있는 능력을 부여하셨습니다. 하나님은 당신이 생각도 하기 전에, 당신이 바른 일을 하고, 바른 말을 할 수 있도록 하셨습니다. 얼마나 놀라운 일입니까!
이제 솔로몬 안에서 역사하는 하나님의 지혜로 인해 솔로몬이 행한 놀라운 일들을 생각해 보십시오! 당신은 그보다도 더 많은 일을 해낼 수 있습니다. 당신이 솔로몬보다 더 위대하기 때문입니다. 당신은 그리스도의 지혜를 가지고 있습니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!
기도
나는 지혜 가운데 걷습니다. 지혜는 하나님의 목적을 위해 적절한 때에 올바른 방법으로 옳은 일을 하며 바른 말을 하게 하는 힘입니다. 그리스도는 나의 지혜이십니다. 그 지혜가 내 안에서 효과적으로 역사하여 하나님의 영광을 위한 의의 열매를 맺습니다! 할렐루야!

WISDOM THROUGH WORDS
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:”(1 Corinthians 1:30).
In 1 Kings 3, the Bible tells us of a remarkable encounter Solomon had with the Lord. Solomon had offered more than a thousand burnt offerings to God in Gibeon. The same night, the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Solomon, ask for anything you want.”
In response, Solomon answered, “Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people…” (1 Kings 3:9). How it pleased the Lord that Solomon asked for this! But here’s what I want you to notice: After the encounter, Solomon was said to be the wisest man on the face of the earth. The Bible says, “And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore. And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men…” (1 Kings 4:29-31). How did Solomon get the wisdom?
God only appeared to him in a dream; there was no physical contact. But God spoke words and wisdom was imparted to Solomon. In 1 Kings 3:12, the Lord said to Solomon, “I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.” Solomon believed, and immediately, he began to manifest wisdom.
God gave Solomon wisdom with words; He said it, and that was it! Did you know that He did the same for us? Only that in our case, He gave us something greater than what Solomon had. Our theme verse says Christ Jesus has been made unto us wisdom. And Jesus said of Himself, “A greater than Solomon is here” (Luke 11:31).
Jesus Christ (a greater than Solomon) is your wisdom—“Sophia” (Greek). “Sophia” is theoretical wisdom and insight into reality; it’s the collective understanding of things. Christ is your excellent wisdom. The wisdom (Phronesis in Greek) of the righteous is given you in Christ Jesus. It’s practical wisdom. Thus, in Christ, He has granted you the ability to understand concepts and see relationships between them. He makes you do and say the right things before you think. How amazing this is!
Now, think about the amazing things Solomon did because of the wisdom of God at work in him! You can do much more today because you’re greater than Solomon. You have the wisdom of Christ. Blessed be God!
PRAYER
I walk in wisdom; a force that makes me do and say the right things at the right time, in the right way, for God’s purpose. Christ is my wisdom; that wisdom effectively works in me to produce fruits and works of righteousness to the glory of God! Hallelujah!
