우리는 하나님의 임재 안에 삽니다
We Live In His Presence
“그는 진리의 영이라 세상은 능히 그를 받지 못하나니 이는 그를 보지도 못하고 알지도 못함이라 그러나 너희는 그를 아나니 그는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라”(요 14:17)
기독교에서 우리는 하나님의 임재에 들어갔다 나왔다 하지 않습니다. 그분의 임재는 우리의 집입니다. 우리는 하나님의 임재 안에서 태어났습니다. 시편 87:4을 공부해보면 다음과 같은 예언적인 말씀을 발견하게 됩니다. “내가 나를 아는 자들에게 라합과 바빌론에 관하여 말하리라. 필리스티아와 투로와 에디오피아를 보라. 이 사람이 거기서 태어났도다.”(한글킹제임스) 이 구절에서 말하는 “이 사람”은 새로운 피조물을 뜻합니다. “거기서”는 그리스도 안에서의 우리의 위치, 하나님의 임재 안에서의 우리의 위치를 의미합니다.
따라서 그리스도인이 “아버지, 오늘 제가 당신께 갑니다” 혹은 “경배를 통해 하나님의 임재 안으로 들어갑시다” 라고 한다면 그것은 말이 되지 않습니다. 저는 이런 궁금증이 생깁니다. 만일 그들이 하나님의 임재로 들어가려 한다면, 도대체 그들은 어디에 있었던 것입니까? 하나님의 자녀들은 우리가 그분의 임재 안에 산다는 것을 반드시 알아야 합니다.
신약에서는 하나님의 임재 “안으로 들어가는” 것과 같은 것은 없습니다. 우리는 그분 안에서 살고 움직이며 존재합니다. 그분의 임재는 우리 안에 있고 우리와 함께 있습니다. 당신이 어디를 가든지 그분의 임재와 함께 갑니다. 당신이 거듭났다면 누구도 당신을 하나님의 임재 안으로 데려갈 수 없습니다. 당신은 법적으로나 실제로나 그분의 임재 안에서 태어났고 그분의 임재 안에 살고 있기 때문입니다.
고백
나는 성령으로 내 안에 거하시는 살아 계신 하나님의 성전입니다. 그리스도는 내 안에 거하시고 나는 영원히 그분 안에 있습니다. 나는 그분의 임재 안에 살며 내 세상에 영향력을 미치기 위해 어디를 가든지 신성한 임재를 가지고 갑니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

WE LIVE IN HIS PRESENCE
“Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you” (John 14:17).
In Christianity, we don’t go in and out of God’s presence. His presence is our home; we were born therein. When you study Psalm 87:4, you’d observe the prophetic reference: “I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.” “This man” refers to the new creation. “There” refers to our place in Christ—our place in God’s presence.
This is the reason it’s an absurdity when a Christian says, “Father, I come to you today”; or “Let’s get into the presence of God through worship.” I often wonder: if they’re about to get into the presence of God, where then have they been? God’s children must understand that we live in His presence.
There’s no such thing in the New Testament as us “getting into” the presence of God. In Him we live and move and have our being. His presence is in us and with us. When you come into a place, you come with His presence. If you’re born again, nobody can take you into the presence of God, because you were born right into His presence, and you live in His presence, both legally and vitally. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
I’m the temple of the living God; He dwells in me by the Holy Spirit. Christ has taken up His abode in me and I’m forever in Him. I live in His presence and I carry that divine presence everywhere to impact my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
