“그리스도께서 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살아나셨다 전파되었거늘 너희 중에서 어떤 사람들은 어찌하여 죽은 자 가운데서 부활이 없다 하느냐”(고전 15:12)
언젠가 어느 유명한 “성직자”가 자신은 주 예수의 부활을 믿었었지만 이제는 예수가 정말로 죽은 자 가운데서 살아났는지에 대해 의문을 품게 되었다고 공식적으로 말한 적이 있습니다. 사실, 그는 자신이 그리스도인이라고 주장했지만, 그는 예수님을 믿은 적이 없습니다. 예수님의 부활을 전적으로 믿지 않고 그리스도인이 되는 것은 불가능하기 때문입니다.
첫째로, 부활 없이는 기독교도 없습니다. 기독교는 십자가로부터 시작하는 것이 아니라 오직 부활로부터 시작됩니다. 예수님의 죽음이 영생을 준 것이 아닙니다. 우리를 영생으로 인도한 것은 예수 그리스도의 부활입니다. 사도 바울은 로마서 6:4에서 이렇게 설명합니다. “그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라”(롬 6:4).
부활을 믿지 않는 것은 영생의 가능성과 능력을 부정하는 것입니다. 그리고 당신이 영생을 가지고 있지 않다면, 당신은 그리스도인이 아닙니다. 그리스도인은 영생을 받은 사람입니다. 영생이 무엇입니까? 영생은 하나님의 생명과 본성이며 신성의 본질입니다.
예를 들어, 개는 염소가 아니며 닭은 타조가 아닙니다. 그 동물들이 서로 얼마나 닮았는지 상관없이 그들은 같은 생명을 가지고 있지 않으며 절대 다른 생명을 생산해낼 수 없습니다. 개는 결코 염소를 낳을 수 없고, 염소도 개를 낳을 수 없습니다. 그리스도인은 말 그대로 하나님의 생명으로 태어났습니다. 예수 그리스도의 부활이 이를 가능케 했습니다. 할렐루야!
더욱이 성경은 예수님이 죽은 자들 가운데서 부활하심으로 말미암아 육신을 입은 하나님이심을 증거하고 선포하셨다고 말합니다(롬 1:4). 그리고 하나님의 영은 고린도전서 15:12-19에서 사도 바울을 통해 이 교리의 정수를 보이셨습니다. 해당 구절들을 공부해보십시오. 고린도전서 15:19은 말합니다. “만일 그리스도 안에서 우리가 바라는 것이 다만 이 세상의 삶뿐이면 모든 사람 가운데 우리가 더욱 불쌍한 자이리라.” 부활로 인해 하나님께 감사드립니다! 부활이 우리에게 생명을 주었습니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 우리를 기독교로 인도한 그리스도의 영광스러운 부활에 감사드립니다. 부활은 우리에게 영생을 주었습니다. 이 영생은 부서지지 않으며 쓰러지지 않는 견고한 생명입니다. 나는 내가 생명의 새로움 가운데 걸으며 그리스도와 함께 일으켜졌고 그분과 함께 승리와 권세와 통치의 자리에 함께 앉았음을 인식합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

CHRISTIANITY AND THE RESURRECTION
“Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?” (1 Corinthians 15:12).
Sometime ago, a certain well-known “priest” publicly stated that he used to believe in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, but he now had reasons to question whether or not Jesus truly rose from the dead. The fact of the matter is, he never believed in Jesus even though he claimed to be a Christian. It’s impossible to be a Christian without believing absolutely in the resurrection of Jesus!
There’s no Christianity without the resurrection. Christianity only begins from the resurrection, not the Cross. The death of Jesus didn’t provide eternal life; it’s the resurrection of Jesus Christ that ushered us into eternal life. The Apostle Paul explains it in Romans 6:4; he said, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
To not believe in the resurrection is to deny the possibility and availability of eternal life. And if you don’t have eternal life, you’re not a Christian. A Christian is someone who has received eternal life. What is eternal life? It’s the life and nature of God—the quality of the divine essence.
For example, dogs aren’t goats, chickens aren’t ostriches; no matter the resemblance between them, they don’t have the same life and they’ll never produce or reproduce after the other. Dogs will never reproduce goats and vice versa. The Christian is literally born of God, with the God-life. It was the resurrection of Jesus Christ that made that possible. Hallelujah!
More so, the Bible says Jesus was proven or declared to be God in human flesh according to the resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4). Then the Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul, brought the doctrine to a climax in 1 Corinthians 15:12-19; study the entire reference. The 19th verse says, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” Thank God for the resurrection! It’s what gave us life. Blessed be God!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the glorious resurrection of Christ that ushered in Christianity and brought us into eternal life—the indestructible, uninfectable, and impregnable life. I walk in the newness of life, conscious that I’ve been raised together with Christ and made to sit together with Him in the place of victory, authority and dominion forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
