He’s Right Inside You
“너는 내가 아버지 안에 있고 또 아버지께서 내 안에 계시는 것을 믿지 아니하느냐? 내가 너희에게 하는 말들은 내 스스로 하는 것이 아니라 내 안에 거하시는 아버지께서 그 일들을 하시는 것이라.”(요 14:10, 한글킹제임스)
기독교는 당신과 함께 계시는 그리스도가 아니라, 당신 안에 계신 그리스도에 관한 것입니다. 이 둘에는 분명한 차이가 있습니다. 이 위대한 영광의 하나님께서 그분의 충만함과 능력 가운데 당신 안에 살고 계심을 당신이 완벽히 이해할 때, 이는 당신이 생각하는 방식과 살아가는 방식을 변화시킬 것입니다.
어떤 이들에게 하나님은 저 멀리 천국에 계신 분입니다. 그래서 그들은 이렇게 기도하고 노래합니다. “주님, 당신 곁으로 나를 더 가까이 이끄소서!” 당신은 바로 당신 안에 계신 분과 얼마나 더 “가까워”지기 원하십니까? 예수님의 사고방식을 가지십시오. 그분은 이 땅에 계실 때 아버지와의 연합 안에서 살아가셨으며, 아버지의 내주하시는 임재를 계속하여 의식하셨습니다.
우리는 오늘의 본문 구절에서 예수님이 하신 말씀을 읽었습니다. 그분은 “…내 안에 거하시는 아버지…”라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그분은 성령님을 말씀하신 것입니다. 성령님은 하나님과 동등한 분이십니다. 그분은 당신 안에 계시는 아버지이십니다! 이제 아시겠습니까? 그분은 멀리 있지 않으십니다. 당신 안에 계십니다! 어떤 사람들은 그들의 기도가 천장을 넘어가지 못할까 봐 걱정합니다. 그럴 필요 없습니다. 당신이 기도를 드린 하나님은 바로 당신 안에서 당신이 있는 그곳, 천장 아래에 계십니다.
고린도전서 6:17은 예수님과 우리의 분리될 수 없는 연합에 대해 이렇게 말합니다. “주와 합하는 자는 한 영이니라.” 이것이 바로 당신이 그분과 풍성한 교제를 누리고 그분과의 연합 가운데 걸을 수 있는 이유입니다. 마치 그분이 멀리 계신 것처럼 그분께 닿기 위해 노력하거나 울부짖을 필요가 없습니다. 당신이 어디를 가든지 그분은 당신 안에 계시며, 당신은 그분 안에 있습니다.
그분은 당신의 집입니다. 거듭났을 때, 당신은 그분 안에서 태어났습니다. 고린도후서 5:17은 말합니다. “그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면…” 당신은 그분 안에서 살아가고, 움직이며, 존재합니다. 예수님처럼 이렇게 담대하게 말하십시오. “내가 아버지 안에 있고, 아버지께서 내 안에 계신다”(요 14:11). 하나님을 송축합니다!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나의 심령을 당신의 거처로 삼으시고 나를 당신과 분리될 수 없는 하나로 만들어 당신과 풍성한 교제를 누리게 하심을 감사드립니다. 내 삶에 있는 당신의 영광스러운 임재와 영광에서 영광으로 변화됨에 감사드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HE’S RIGHT INSIDE YOU
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works (John 14:10).
Christianity is Christ in you, not Christ with you, or among you, but in you. There’s a clear difference. When it dawns on you that truly, this great God of glory, in all His fullness and power, lives in you, it’ll change the way you think and the way you live; you’ll have a completely different outlook on life.
This is what you need to train and exercise yourself in: the consciousness of the indwelling Christ.
For some, God is in Heaven, so far away; so they pray and sing, “Draw me nearer to thee O Lord!” How much “nearer” do you want to get to someone who’s right inside you? Have the mentality of Jesus; when He was on earth, He lived in union with the Father, and was constantly mindful of the Father’s indwelling presence.
We read His words in our opening verse; He said, “…the Father that dwelleth in me…”; He was referring to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is coequal with God.
He’s the Father that lives in you! So you see? He’s not far away; He’s in you! Some people worry that sometimes, it’s like their prayers don’t go beyond the ceiling; it doesn’t need to. The God to whom you pray is right inside you, where you are, under the ceiling.
1 Corinthians 6:17 talks about our inseparable union with Jesus; it says, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” This is the reason you can enjoy rich fellowship with Him, and walk in union with Him.
There’s no need to try to reach out to Him, crying out as though He were far away. Everywhere you are, He’s in you, and you in Him.
He is your home; you were born into Him when you were born again. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ…”; you live, move and have your being in Him. Like Jesus, be bold to say, “I am in the Father, and the Father is in me” (John 14:11). Blessed be God!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for making my heart your home, thus making me inseparably one with you to enjoy rich fellowship with you. Thank you for the glory of your presence in my life, and the transformation from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
