당신 안에 거처를 삼으신 그리스도
Christ At Home In You
“하나님이 그들로 하여금 이 비밀의 영광이 이방인 가운데 얼마나 풍성한지를 알게 하려 하심이라 이 비밀은 너희 안에 계신 그리스도시니 곧 영광의 소망이니라”(골 1:27)
“너희 안에 계신 그리스도”라는 표현은 당신 안에 내재된 그리스도의 특징, 성품, 영광의 힘, 은혜를 뜻합니다. 그리고 이 모든 것은 성령님에 의해 이루어졌습니다.
요한복음 14:23에서 예수님이 하신 말씀을 떠올려 보십시오. “…사람이 나를 사랑하면 내 말을 지키리니 내 아버지께서 그를 사랑하실 것이요 우리가 그에게 가서 거처를 그와 함께 하리라.” 이 말씀은 예수님의 죽음, 장사됨, 부활, 그리고 승천 이전에 주어졌습니다. 요한복음 14:16-17에서 그분은 또한 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 … 너희는 그를 아나니 그는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라.”
그분은 약속을 지키셨고, 오순절 날 성령이 오셔서 제자들 안에 거하셨습니다. 오늘날 거듭난 우리는 그분의 살아있는 성전이 되었습니다. 그분은 우리 안에 그분의 거처를 삼으셨습니다. 이것은 구약에서는 신비였습니다. 선지자들과 심지어 천사들도 어떻게 하나님이 사람의 심령에 거처를 삼는 것이 가능할지 궁금해 했습니다.
그러나 이것은 하나님의 영원한 갈망이었습니다. 잠언 8:31에서 그분은 말씀하셨습니다. “…나의 기쁨이 사람들의 아들들과 더불어 있었느니라”(한글킹제임스). 결국 바울은 우리가 오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽었듯이, 성령에 의해 이 신비를 써 내려가면서 드러내었습니다. 그러므로 우리가 “당신 안에 계신 그리스도”라고 말할 때, 우리는 사람 안에 담긴 하나님의 성품, 아름다움, 모든 영광과 능력과 의를 보고 있는 것입니다.
에베소서 3:17은 말합니다. “믿음으로 말미암아 그리스도께서 너희 마음에 계시게 하시옵고…” 여기서 “계시다(dwell)”라는 말은 ‘정착하다’라는 뜻입니다. 그러므로 당신은 그리스도가 정착한 사람입니다. 믿음으로 말미암아 그분이 당신의 심령에 거처를 삼으셨고, 당신과 그분은 섞여 한 영이 되었습니다. 오늘 그분의 똑같은 생명과 성품의 특성, 그리고 그분의 영광의 특징은 모두 당신 안에 있습니다. 영원히 주님의 이름에 영광을 드립니다!
고백
복되신 주님, 나의 심령의 방을 당신의 거처로 삼으시니 감사드립니다. 당신은 나를 깨끗케 하시고 당신의 살아있는 성전으로 삼으셨습니다. 당신의 생명 곧 당신의 성품의 특성과 영광의 특징이 모두 내 안에 있으며 나를 통해 나타납니다. 이것이 얼마나 복된 실재인지요! 영원히 감사드립니다.

CHRIST AT HOME IN YOU
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).
“Christ in you” refers to all that’s in the character, personality, potency of the glory and graces of Christ embodied in you. And that’s done by the Holy Spirit. Recall the words of Jesus in John 14:23; “…If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” This was before His death, burial, resurrection and ascension to heaven. He had said in John 14:16-17, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter… ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
He made good on His promise, and on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came and indwelt the disciples. Today, being born again, we’ve become His living temple; He’s set up His abode in us. This was a mystery in the Old Testament; the prophets and even the angels wondered how it would be possible for God to make His home in men’s hearts.
But it was ever God’s desire; He said in Proverbs 8:31, “…my delights were with the sons of men.”
Paul, by the Spirit, eventually writes and unveils this mystery as read in our theme scripture. So, when we say, “Christ in you,” we’re looking at the character, the beauty, all of the glory, power, and the righteousness of God encapsulated in a man.
Ephesians 3:17 says, “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith….” That word “dwell” means “settle”; so, you’re one in whom Christ has settled.
He has made His home in your heart by faith; there’s a mingling; a oneness of spirit. His very life, the very quality of His personality and the characteristics of His glory are all in you today. Glory to His Name forever!

Blessed Lord, thank you for setting up your abode in the quarters of my heart. You sanctified me, and made me your living tabernacle, with your very life?the very quality of your personality and the characteristics of your glory?resident in, and expressed through me. What a blessed reality; for this, I’m forever grateful.
