예수님은 지금 당신 안에 거하십니다
He Dwells In You Now
“가서 너희를 위하여 거처를 예비하면 내가 다시 와서 너희를 내게로 영접하여 나 있는 곳에 너희도 있게 하리라”(요 14:3)
많은 사람들이 예수님께서 오늘의 본문 구절에서 말씀하신 내용을 이해하지 못합니다. 어떤 사람들은 그분이 재림이나 휴거에 대해서 말씀하셨다고 생각합니다. 그러나 그것은 예수님께서 의미하신 바가 아닙니다. 이것을 이해하기 위해서는 문맥 안에서 감각이 아닌 영으로 그분의 메시지를 이해해야 합니다.
그분은 16절까지 이 흥미로운 말씀을 이어 가셨습니다. “내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 영원토록 너희와 함께 있게 하리니.”
“또 다른 보혜사”라는 단어는 그리스어로 “알로스 페라클레토스(Allos parakletos)”로서, ‘같은 종류의 또 다른’이라는 뜻입니다. 따라서 예수님은 그 말씀을 하실 때 성령님을 소개하신 것입니다. 그리고 나서 그분은 말씀하셨습니다. “…그러나 너희는 그를 아나니 그는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라”(요 14:17). 그 당시에 어떻게 성령님께서 그들과 함께 거하셨습니까? 성령님은 오순절에 오신 것이 아닙니까? 이것은 우리에게 무언가를 알려줍니다. 예수님은 여기서 성령님 만이 아니라 그분 자신도 의미하신 것입니다!
중요한 내용을 전달하기 위해 그분은 오늘의 본문 구절에서 말씀하신 바인 “내가 다시 와서 너희를 내게로 영접하여”로 다시 돌아가셨습니다. 그리고 나서 그분은 18절에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 너희를 고아와 같이 버려두지 아니하고 너희에게로 오리라.” 어떻게 그리고 언제 그분이 그들에게 돌아오십니까?
그분은 20절에서 말씀하셨습니다. “그 날에는 내가 아버지 안에, 너희가 내 안에, 내가 너희 안에 있는 것을 너희가 알리라.” 그분께서 말씀하신 그 날은 언제입니까? 분명 그분은 성령님이 오시는 그 날에 대해 말씀하셨습니다! 그러므로 그분이 “너희에게로 오리라”고 말씀하셨을 때, 그분은 “나는 너희에게 성령으로 올 것이다!”라고 말씀하신 것입니다. 그리고 오순절 날, 그분은 귀중한 약속을 성취하셨습니다. “그들이 다 성령의 충만함을 받고 성령이 말하게 하심을 따라 다른 언어들로 말하기를 시작하니라”(행 2:4). 예수님은 오늘날 그분의 모든 충만함으로 당신 안에 계십니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다!
기도
사랑하는 귀하신 성령님, 나를 승리자와 상황을 다스리는 자로 만드는 당신의 내주하심과 변치 않는 임재에 감사드립니다. 내가 하나님의 뜻을 행하고 나의 부르심을 성취하도록 나의 믿음을 강하게 하시고 용기를 북돋아 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 당신의 인도를 받도록 항상 내어져 있으므로 나의 성공은 보장되어 있습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HE DWELLS IN YOU NOW
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:3).
Many don’t understand what Jesus was talking about in the scripture above. Some have speculated that He was talking about the Second Coming or the Rapture, but that’s not what He was talking about in that verse. To understand what Jesus meant, you’ll have to stay in the context, and understand His message with your spirit, not with your senses. He continued this interesting discourse till He got to the 16th verse where He said, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.”
The term “another Comforter” is the Greek phrase “Allon paraklēton,” meaning “another of same kind.” So, Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit at that point. Then He said, “…ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you” (John 14:17). How did the Holy Spirit dwell with them at the time? Wasn’t He supposed to come on the Day of Pentecost? That tells us something. He wasn’t talking about the Holy Spirit alone; He was also referring to Himself!
To drive that point home, He went back to what He said in our theme verse, saying, “I will come again, and receive you unto myself…” Then in verse 18, He said, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” How and when was He going to come to them?
In the 20th verse, He said, “At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.” What day was He talking about? Evidently, He was talking about the day when the Holy Ghost comes! So, when He said, “I will come to you,” He was saying, “I’ll come to you in the Holy Spirit!” And on the Day of Pentecost, He fulfilled that precious promise: “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4). He’s in you today in all His fullness. Praise God!

Dear Precious Holy Spirit, thank you for your indwelling and abiding presence which has made me a victor and a master over circumstances. Thank you for strengthening my faith and stirring up courage in me to do the will of God and fulfil my calling. My success in life is guaranteed because I’m yielded to your guidance and leading always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
