The Earthy And The Heavenly
“무릇 흙에 속한 자들은 저 흙에 속한 자와 같고 무릇 하늘에 속한 자들은 저 하늘에 속한 이와 같으니”(고전 15:48)
때때로 우리는 어떤 이들이 “저 아담의 후손을 몰라요”라고 하는 소리를 듣곤 합니다. 이런 말은 그런 사람들이 그들의 혈통을 첫 번째 아담에까지 찾아 올라갈 수 있다는 사실을 암시합니다. 그러나 알다시피, 거듭날 때 당신의 조상 또는 혈통은 첫 번째 아담이 아니라 두 번째 아담인 예수 그리스도이십니다.
오늘의 본문 구절의 바로 앞 구절은 말씀합니다. “첫 사람은 땅에서 났으니 흙에 속한 자이거니와 둘째 사람은 하늘에서 나셨느니라”(고전 15:47) 그러므로 예수님처럼 당신은 하늘에 속한 자입니다. 이 의미는 당신이 이 세상과 이 세상의 요소나 시스템에 굴복하지 않는다는 뜻입니다. 예수님은 이 땅을 거니셨을 때 세상을 정복하시고 굴복시키셨습니다. 이것이 바로 그분이 당신에게도 기대하시는 부분입니다. 왜냐하면 “주께서 그러하심과 같이 우리도 이 세상에서 그러하기”(요일 4:17) 때문입니다.
고린도전서 15:45(한글킹제임스)은 말씀합니다. “따라서 이와 같이 기록되었으니 ‘첫 사람 아담은 살아 있는 혼이 되었고 마지막 아담은 살려 주는 영이 되었느니라.’고 하였노라.” 당신에게 새겨져 있는 형상과 모양이신 예수 그리스도는 하늘에서 온 주님이요 생명을 주시는 영이십니다. 예수 그리스도는 이제 당신의 뿌리입니다. 당신은 예수 그리스도와 연결되고 그분에게서 태어났습니다! 첫 번째 아담과 당신의 결속은 완전히 그리고 영원히 끊어졌습니다.
시편 87:6을 읽어보십시오. “여호와께서 민족들을 등록하실 때에는 그 수를 세시며 이 사람이 거기서 났다 하시리로다 (셀라)”(시 87:6) 주님께서는 시온에서 태어난 새로운 피조물에 대해 말씀하고 계십니다! 하나님은 당신의 혈통을 이 땅의 출생지로 거슬러 올라가지 않으십니다. 이것이 바로 예수님이 유대인들에게 “너희는 아래에서 났고 나는 위에서 났으며 너희는 이 세상에 속하였고 나는 이 세상에 속하지 아니하였느니라”(요 8:23)라고 하신 말씀의 의미입니다. 예수님은 자신이 다르다는 것을 아셨습니다. 오늘날 당신도 마찬가지입니다. 당신은 하늘에 속한 자입니다!
이와는 달리, 거듭나지 않은 사람들은 흙에 속한 자들입니다. 우리는 이들을 “땅의 존재(earthings)”라고 부릅니다. 그들은 이 세상에 속하여 이 세상의 요소에 굴복합니다. 이것이 바로 당신이 접촉하는 모든 영역과 그 너머의 모든 사람이 그리스도의 복음을 듣고 흙에 속한 존재에서 하늘에 속한 존재로 전환되도록 그들에게 복음을 전해야 합니다. 할렐루야!
고백
나는 이 세상에 속한 자가 아닙니다! 나에게는 두 번째 아담이요 마지막 아담이신 예수 그리스도의 형상이 있습니다! 나는 하늘에 속한 자이며 성도들과 같은 시민이요 하나님의 집에 속한 자입니다! 내 삶 전부가 이 땅에 있는 하늘의 본보기이므로, 나는 계속해서 하늘의 환경을 확장하고 많은 영혼을 왕국 안으로 데려옵니다. 예수 이름으로 고백합니다. 아멘.

THE EARTHY AND THE HEAVENLY
As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly (1 Corinthians 15:48).
Oftentimes, we hear some people say, “I don’t know that man from Adam.” Such statements are indicative of the fact that such people are tracing their lineage to the first Adam. But when you’re born again, your ancestry or lineage isn’t from the first Adam; it’s from the second Adam, Jesus Christ.
The verse preceding our opening verse says, “The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven” (1 Corinthians 15:47). So, like Jesus, you’re heavenly; meaning that you’re not subject to this world, its elements or systems. Jesus conquered and subdued this world when He walked the earth. That’s what He expects of you too, because “…as he is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17).
1 Corinthians 15:45 says, “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” Christ Jesus, whose image and likeness you bear is the Lord from heaven; a life-giving Spirit. He’s now your root; you’re connected to, born from, and of, Him! Your ties with the first Adam have been severed completely and forever.
Read Psalm 87:6; it says, “The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there.” He’s talking about the new creation who was born in Zion! God doesn’t trace your lineage to the land of your earthly nativity. This is what Jesus meant when He said to the Jews, “…Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world” (John 8:23). He knew He was different. It’s the same with you today. You’re heavenly!
On the contrary, those who aren’t born again are earthy. We call them “earthlings”; they’re of this world, and subject to the corrupting influences of this world. This is the reason you must preach the Gospel to everyone in your sphere of contact, and beyond, that they may hear the Gospel of Christ and be converted from being earthy to being heavenly. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
I’m not of this world! I bear the image of the second and last Adam—Jesus Christ. I’m heavenly, a fellow citizen with the saints, and of the household of God. Everything about my life epitomises heaven on earth, and I continually extend that environment to those in my world, and haul souls into the Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
