“그러므로 너희는 그들 중에서 나와서 따로 있고 부정한 것을 만지지 말라 내가 너희를 영접하여”(고후 6:17)
소셜 미디어가 삶의 필수적인 부분이 되어가고 있고, 점점 더 많은 사람에게 번지고 있습니다. 하지만 오늘날 많은 사람을 어리석게 만드는 그런 광란에 흔들리거나 동요되지 마십시오. 당신은 다양한 소셜 미디어 플랫폼에서 많은 사람이 상당히 외설적인 내용을 드러내고 끔찍한 사진을 올리는 것을 보면서 과연 그들에게 명예심이라는 게 있는지 궁금해할 것입니다.
성경은 그리스도인에게 과잉이 아닌 절제를 가르칩니다. 당신이 허락해서는 안 되는 것들이 있습니다. 그리스도인에게는 품격이 있습니다. 오늘날 쇼핑몰과 광장이나 공원을 지나다 보면 낯 뜨거운 자세를 취하는 사람들을 볼 수 있습니다. 그런 행동 수준으로 내려가지 마십시오.
그리스도인인 우리에게는 더 높은 삶과 더 높은 기준이 있습니다. 우리에게는 품격이 있습니다. 옷 입는 방법과 말하는 법과 생활 방식에도 어떤 품격이 있어야 합니다. 당신이 있어서는 안 되는 장소들도 있습니다. 오늘의 본문 구절은 말씀합니다. “….너희는 그들 중에서 나와서 따로 있고” 다시 말해, 그들과 달라야 한다는 것입니다. 당신에게는 다른 삶과 다른 문화 그리고 의인의 사고방식이라 불리는 다른 사고방식이 있습니다.
성령님이 당신을 거룩하게 하셨습니다. 즉, 그분은 당신을 구별하여 거룩하고 순결하다고 선언하셨습니다. 그러므로 의 안에서 걸으십시오. 세상 사람들이 당신을 경건하지 않은 행동으로 끌어들이지 않게 하십시오. 그렇게 하지 않으면 당신은 그들을 이겨올 수 없습니다. 그들을 이겨오기 위해서는 당신의 기준이 더 높아야 합니다.
주님을 모방하십시오. 그분처럼 생각하고 행동하며 말하십시오. 하나님의 영과 함께 가는 품격이 있으므로, 그 품격이 당신의 삶에도 있어야 합니다. 당신에 관한 모든 것들이 다른 사람들을 세워주고 날마다 모든 면에서 주님을 영화롭게 하십시오. 당신은 어둡고 타락한 세상에서 빛이기 때문입니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 제 삶 속에 있는 아버지의 말씀의 능력에 감사드립니다. 아버지는 저를 말과 행동과 사랑과 믿음과 순결에 대한 본으로 삼으셨으므로, 저는 모든 면에서 의와 선행의 진정한 모델로 나타납니다. 저는 세상의 빛이며 저의 빛은 아주 밝게 빛납니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

A HIGHER LIFE AND HIGHER STANDARDS
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (2 Corinthians 6:17).
Social media is becoming an integral part of life, and more and more people are catching on to it. But don’t be swayed or moved by its frenzy that’s pushing a lot of people to absurdity today. On various social media platforms, you find many displaying a high level of indecency, posting awful pictures, and you’ll wonder if they ever had any sense of honour.
As a Christian, the Bible teaches moderation, not excesses. There’re things you just don’t allow. A Christian has some decency. Today, you can pass by a shopping mall or public squares or parks and find people in compromising positions. Don’t condescend to that level of behaviour.
As Christians, we have a higher life, and higher standards; we have decency. There should be some decency in your dressing, speech, and way of life. There’re places you just shouldn’t be found in. Our opening verse says, “…come out from among them, and be ye separate…”; in other words, be different. You have a different life, a different culture, and a different mindset; it’s called the mindset of the righteous.
You were sanctified by the Spirit; meaning that He separated you and declared you holy and undefiled. Therefore, walk in righteousness. Don’t let those of the world drag you into ungodly behaviours; otherwise, you can’t win them. Your standard has to be higher to win them.
Copy the Master; think like Him; act like Him; talk like Him. There’s a decency that goes with the Spirit of God, and that decency must be in your life. Let everything about you edify others, and bring glory to the Lord in every way, and every day, for you’re the light in a dark and perverted world.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the power of your Word in my life. You’ve made me an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity, and I show myself in all respects to be a true model of righteousness and good works. I’m the light of the world, and my light shines ever so brightly, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
