Exciting Benefits Of Prayer
“쉬지 말고 기도하라”(살전 5:17)
기도의 중요성과 고차원적인 목적을 이해할 때 자발적이고 열렬하게 기도하되, 특별히 다른 방언으로 기도하게 됩니다. 성령님이 하나님의 자녀인 우리 삶에서 행하신 아름다운 일 중 하나는 우리에게 다른 방언으로 말할 수 있는 능력을 주는 것입니다. 방언으로 말할 때 당신이 하는 발설, 즉 당신이 하는 말은 사람에게서 나온 말이 아니라 주님으로부터 나오는 말입니다.
더욱이 우리는 사람이 아니라 하나님께 말합니다. “방언을 말하는 자는 사람에게 하지 아니하고 하나님께 하나니 이는 알아 듣는 자가 없고 영으로 비밀을 말함이라”(고전 14:2) 방언으로 기도할 때 당신은 아버지와 교제합니다. 즉 하늘의 언어로 성령을 통해 아버지와 소통하고 있습니다. 이 얼마나 축복인지요!
방언으로 기도하는 것은 당신의 영에 거하는 하나님의 능력을 활성화하도록 돕습니다. 성령을 받았을 때 그 능력이 당신의 삶에 들어왔을지라도(행 1:8), 당신은 하나님의 영광을 위해 그 능력을 계속 활성화하고 사용해야 합니다.
방언으로 기도하는 것은 당신이 성령의 안내와 자극에 영적으로 “맞추고” 조절하며 반응하도록 해줄 것입니다. 성령 안에서 기도함으로 주님과 교제하면서 시간을 보낼수록 당신 안에서 그리고 당신을 통해서 주님의 성품과 인품이 드러나고 나타날 것입니다.
어떤 이들은 삶에서 위기를 직면할 때만 마지못해 기도합니다. 그것은 옳지 않습니다. 우리는 하늘 아버지와의 교제로 부름을 받았습니다. 교제가 바로 기도하는 일차적인 목적입니다!
개인적인 기도 시간과 공동체적인 기도 시간을 아주 진지하게 받아들이십시오. 일상 속에서 기도를 통해 주님과 교제할 기회를 만드십시오. 그러면 당신의 삶은 영광에서 영광으로 번성할 것입니다.

의로우신 아버지께서는 얼마나 위대하신지요! 아버지의 영광과 위대하심과 장엄하심은 형용할 수 없습니다. 제 삶에 있는 아버지의 임재와 끊임없이 증가하는 영광으로 저를 세우고 세워주는 아버지의 말씀으로 인해 감사드립니다. 다른 방언으로 말하여 깊고 친밀하게 아버지와 교제하는 특권으로 인해 감사드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

EXCITING BENEFITS OF PRAYER
Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
When you understand the importance and higher purposes of prayer, you’ll always be willing and excited to pray, especially in other tongues. One of the beautiful things the Holy Spirit has done in our lives as God’s children is to give us the ability to speak in other tongues. When we speak in tongues, the utterance, the words we speak, aren’t man-made but from the Lord. Moreover, we aren’t speaking to men but to God: “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries” (1Corinthians 14:2). When you pray in tongues, you’re in fellowship with the Father; you’re communicating with Him through the Spirit in a heavenly language. What a blessing that is! Also, praying in tongues helps to stir up the power of God resident in your spirit. Though that power came into your life when you received the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), you’ve got to keep it active and in use for His glory. Praying in tongues will keep you more “fit” spiritually, and responsive to the guidance and promptings of the Spirit. The more time you spend in fellowship with the Lord, praying in the Holy Ghost, the more His character and personality are revealed in, and manifested through you. Some are only compelled to pray when they face crises in life, and that’s not right. We’re called into fellowship with our heavenly Father; that’s what prayer, and praying, is primarily for: fellowship! Take your personal and corporate times of prayer very seriously. Create the opportunities in the course of your day to fellowship with the Lord through prayer, and your life will flourish from glory to glory.
PRAYER
How great thou art O Lord! Your glory, greatness, and majesty are beyond description. Thank you for your presence in my life, and your Word that builds and transforms me in ever-increasing glory. Thank you for the privilege of speaking in other tongues and to fellowship with you in such deep intimacy, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
