기도는 고군분투가 아닙니다
Prayer Isn’t A Struggle
“적은 무리여 무서워 말라 너희 아버지께서 그 나라를 너희에게 주시기를 기뻐하시느니라”(눅 12:32)
때로 어떤 그리스도인들이 하는 기도를 잘 들어보면 그들이 진정으로 예수 그리스도의 복음을 이해하지 못한 것이 분명합니다. 그들은 기도할 때 고군분투를 묘사하는 그림을 그리는 경향이 있습니다. 이는 구약에서 얻은 생각입니다. 그러나 우리는 지금 신약에 있고, 우리가 따르고 있는 분이신 예수님은 한 번도 기도로 고군분투하지 않으셨습니다.
예수님이 기도하실 때마다 하신 말은 단순하지만 심오했고 믿음과 확신에 가득 찼습니다. 그분은 아버지와 그분이 하나이시라는 입장에서 기도하셨습니다. 그분은 부족하다거나 필요하다는 의식이 없으셨는데, 당신도 이와 같은 사고방식을 가지기를 원하십니다. 오늘의 본문 구절에서 위로를 주는 그분의 말씀을 떠올려보십시오. “적은 무리여 무서워 말라 너희 아버지께서 그 나라를 너희에게 주시기를 기뻐하시느니라” 어찌 이것을 알고도 기도로 고군분투할 수 있겠습니까? 그렇다면 예수님이 이미 하신 일을 생각하는 것은 기도를 완전히 새로운 차원으로 올려놓습니다. 그분은 당신에게 왕국을 이미 주셨습니다.
큰 것은 더 작은 것을 포함하고 있다는 것을 이해하십시오. 당신에게 이미 왕국이 있다면, 당신은 왕국 안에 있는 모든 것을 소유한 것입니다. 하나님의 왕국 안에는 생명과 의와 사랑과 기쁨과 알려지지 않은 부와 신성한 건강과 평안 등이 있습니다. 이 모든 것은 이미 당신 것입니다. 그 의미는 하나님이 당신을 위해 이런 것들이나 그 이상의 것들을 하시도록 고군분투할 필요가 없다는 뜻입니다. 그것들은 기도해야 할 것들이 아니라, 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 유업과 권리에 속한 것들입니다.
예를 들어 누군가에게 집에 대한 권리를 주고 싶다고 해서 그 집이 조그만 아파트든 방갈로든 3층짜리 건물이든 당신이 집을 그 사람에게 실어다 주지 않습니다. 집을 줄 때 당신은 그 사람에게 집 열쇠를 줌으로써 그렇게 합니다. 마찬가지로 당신에게는 하나님의 왕국을 여는 열쇠가 있습니다. 이 의미는 당신이 영적인 축복은 물론이고 땅에 속한 축복도 접근할 수 있다는 뜻입니다. “내가 천국 열쇠를 네게 주리니 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 매면 하늘에서도 매일 것이요 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 풀면 하늘에서도 풀리리라”(마 16:19)
필요한 것은 날마다 그 왕국이 당신 것이라는 의식으로 사는 것뿐입니다. 그리고 그 왕국은 텅 빈 채로 당신에게 오지 않았습니다. 왕국에는 좋은 것으로 가득합니다. 이를 이해한다면, 당신은 세상이 당신 것임을 알고 담대하게 삶을 통과할 것입니다. 그러면 바울처럼 빛의 왕국에 있는 성도의 유업에 참여할 자격을 당신에게 주신 아버지께 항상 감사할 것입니다(골 1:12).
기도
하나님의 왕국이 제게 속함으로 인해 주님께 감사드립니다. 그러므로 저에게는 부족이나 결핍은 전혀 없습니다! 저에게는 생명과 경건에 속한 모든 것이 있으므로, 저는 모든 선한 일에서 넘치도록 번영합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

PRAYER ISN’T A STRUGGLE
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom (Luke 12:32).
Sometimes, when you listen to some Christians pray, it’s obvious they haven’t really understood the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They tend to paint a picture that portrays struggling in prayer; an idea they got from the Old Testament. But we’re in the New Testament now, and Jesus, the One we’re following, never struggled in prayer.
Each time Jesus prayed, His words were simple and profound, full of faith and confidence. He prayed from the standpoint of His oneness with the Father. He had no consciousness of lack or need, and He wants you to have the same mindset. Imagine His comforting words in our opening scripture: “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32). Why would anyone know this and struggle in prayer? Then, to think He’s even done it already takes it to a whole new level. He’s already given you the Kingdom.
Understand that the lesser is included in the greater. If you already have “the kingdom,” then you have everything that’s in the kingdom. In His Kingdom, there’s life, righteousness, love, joy, wealth untold, divine health, peace, etc.; all these are already yours. That means the struggle to get God to do any of these or more for you is unnecessary. They aren’t even things you should pray for; they’re part of your inheritance and rights in Christ.
If, for instance, you’re giving someone entry and rights to your house, you don’t carry the house to that person, be it a studio apartment, a bungalow or a threestorey building. You do so by giving the keys to the house to the person. Likewise, you have the keys to the Kingdom of heaven, which means you have access to both spiritual and earthly blessings: “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19).
What you need is to live every day with the consciousness that the Kingdom is yours. And the Kingdom didn’t come to you empty; it’s loaded with goodness. Once you understand this, you’ll walk through life with boldness, knowing that the world is yours. Then, like Paul, you’ll always be thankful to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the Kingdom of light (Colossians 1:12)
PRAYER
I thank you Lord, for the Kingdom belongs to me; therefore, I have no lack or want. I have all things that pertain to life and godliness, and I flourish exceedingly in every good work, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
